Turn Off The Main Stop Tap
If you can, turn off the main stop tap where the water enters your property – it’s often under the kitchen sink.
Step 03
Turn Off The Stopcock
If you have a cold water tank, turn off its stopcock to stop more water feeding the burst.
Step 04
Drain The System
Switch on the taps and flush the toilets to drain down the system. Turn on the hot taps too.
Step 05
Switch Off The Electrics
In case of water reaching wiring or fittings, switch off the electrics to avoid electrocution.
